Currently, the markets are still undecided on whether $BTC or $ETHEREUM is stronger. But the coming months will decide who wins the race. ETH is increasingly gaining strength - not least because the "regulation" issue that haunts around will not affect ETH as much.

If you follow the news from El Salvador (link below), cryptocurrencies have climbed tremendously in rank. BTC is still 43% away from its all-time high. In comparison, ETH fared better. Whereby a decline of "only" 39% was recorded here. Thus, according to CoinGecko, the ETH price dropped from its peak to the current price of around $2.580. In the past, it was rather the other way around: other cryptocurrencies usually fell much more than BTC during a pullback.

The fundamentals of ETH are stronger today than ever before compared to BTC: the increased transaction volume in the decentralized financial markets visible in the 6-month chart makes ETH in particular the fastest growing cryptocurrency within the Ethereum ecosystem. This may lead to a convergence with BTC in valuation in the long run as the ETH market continues to grow unceasingly.

Ethereum (including stablecoins) has four times the gross volume of BTC today, caused and driven by the current rise of decentralized financial markets. This development will not flatten out in the future, as major upgrades are currently being made to improve the protocols. In addition, scaling approaches (layer 2 scaling) are being implemented. Also, the main protocols and yield aggregator protocols have proven to be incredibly resilient during this uncertain time.

The situation is different when it comes to transaction fees, which are higher for ETH than for BTC. This is a disadvantage for traders, but not for the value of ETH itself. Cryptofees currently reports that ETH generates over 80 percent more fees than Bitcoin in a week.

As a result, even with the regulatory rumors swirling on the horizon, ETC has the empowerment to set out on another run to catch up with BTC.
